An easier way to collect money online

05.11.2009 – DETROIT, MICHIGAN - As of today, there is a new, secure, convenient and hassle-free solution for collecting money from friends, family, groups and individuals. Paystr is launching its services today: pay, and be paid by listing items and events on your own unique web page.

Paystr is an initiative created by Roger and Amy Berent, owners of the successful architecture firm Metropolitan Architecture Practice and online shop Everyday Clippies respectively. The idea behind Paystr was born out of frustration with paying teachers and parents for field trips and group gifts. “We needed to pay our son's teacher for a field trip and did not have the exact $12.50 she requested, so we had to go to a store and make change for a $20.00 bill by buying some milk, it was a real hassle. Then we thought, wait a minute, in order to really solve this problem we need to solve it for more than just teachers” explains Amy.

Paystr is a 100% free, dead simple tool. Once you've registered you can start adding your listings. Paystr creates one web page for you, that you can customize with an image banner and page description. It also has an 'I Owe U' listing section that allows individuals to pay you any amount they might owe, by simply entering the amount, making your life easier.

Currently Paystr is available to everybody, but you do need a PayPal account in order to receive payments. Next step for Paystr is to expand functionality to include keeping track of rosters and class lists.
